Þegar Örn er ekki í vinnunni að greina dagsbirtu eða annað líkt tileinkar hann tímanum sínum ljósmyndun eða einhverskonar útivist en það eru hans helstu áhugamál.

“Lighting is both an art and a science” (Richard Kelly 1952)
„We are born of light. The seasons are felt through light. We only know the world as it is evoked by light.“ (Louis Kahn)
Liska is an electrical and lighting design practice with experience spanning over 30 years in both domestic and international projects of various shape, size, and form. The team consists of engineers and lighting designers with a commitment to achieving a design that improves life through interaction with architecture and spaces by maintaining an optimal balance between function, aesthetics and sustainability.
The diverse project portfolio at Liska includes cultural projects, retail, office, residential, wellness, healthcare, hotels, landscape, infrastructure developments, customized lighting installations, art installations and more.
Our inspiration is the ever changing environment around us. Nature has a strong impact providing amazing lighting spectacles with the unique Nordic Light here in Iceland. Simple occurrences such as the silhouetting of an object, reflection, shadow, mirroring and the amazing colours created in nature are indeed inspiring us and reflected in our mind and projects.
At Liska we believe in taking the environmental impact of our activities into consideration, both in practice in office and fieldwork as well by applying the core idea of sustainable development in each and every design and advisory project, big or small. Thus promoting the policy of environmental sensitivity to each and every cooperative party. Developing integral lighting solutions through a platform of services that harmoniously integrate electrical lighting, natural lighting and lighting controls is key to creating a balance between functional lighting and creative design.
„I sense light as the giver of all presences, and material as spent Light. What is made by light casts a shadow, and the shadow belongs to light“ (Louis Kahn)
